About Greg

In 2019, I established Viable Yoga to promote sustainable yoga practices for the long-haul of human life. A decade of yoga teaching and studio management revealed how fast-paced, fitness-driven yoga leaves students behind. Overuse injuries and chronic pain patterns demanded I reexamine the purpose of a yoga practice.

I wanted something viable for fluctuating states of health and mobility.

As my own healing took shape, I adapted my methods to look more holistically at the human body. My approach explores the intersections of Indian yoga philosophy, sacred geometry, five-element frameworks from Eastern healing traditions and an expanding catalog of yoga therapy research.

I believe our bodies are in dialogue with the natural environment. I look for patterns in everything, because pattern implies intelligence. My work seeks to illuminate the healing intelligence and capacities of your human body.

Why Therapeutic Yoga?

A therapeutic practice puts your life at its center, it uses your personal references and considers your unique circumstances. Using postural assessments and a holistic framework of human health, yoga therapists design a custom combination of restorative or rigorous poses, therapeutic movement, stress-reducing breathwork and/or mindfulness methods to improve mobility, function and overall wellbeing.

Yoga Therapy could serve it’s own purposes or complement other medical interventions to improve quality of life for people experiencing chronic illness or disability.

  • An Intake session paints an overview of your health and wellbeing. We’ll begin with a conversation and physical assessment to evaluate your presenting state of mind-body-breath, explore musculoskeletal mechanics and postural dynamics then customize practices befitting your balance.

I listen to you. You listen to your body.

  • Yoga Therapy is client-centered which may differ from your experience in a group yoga class.

Together, we'll establish guidelines for a safe and suitable approach to yoga practice. Practices orient and organize around your needs.
